sr22 Virginia
Reader’s Question:
Is it possible for somebody to be required for an sr22 if he does not have a driver’s license? I live in Virginia.
Ivan
Good question Ivan.
It depends upon the laws of the state and the reason why an individual will be required to carry an SR-22 this even if he/she has no driver’s license. According to Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, Financial Responsibility certificate or sr22 are required in the state of Virginia for the following reasons:
* Unsatisfied judgments
* Driver license suspension as a result of a major conviction
* Uninsured motor vehicle suspension
If you were caught violating any of these then even without a license you may be required to carry a SR-22.
Even if an individual does not have a driver’s license ,the state has started a driving record for the person already. If you are caught driving without a license and are also convicted for a traffic violation, these can be recorded under a driver’s record or history even if you do not have a license.
Goodluck!
